Setting Relationship Goals like New Year’s Goals

Now that we are well into 2018, we hope you are still going strong on meeting the goals you set for yourself for this year. People may scoff at resolution and goal-making, but making a commitment to yourself can go a long way to helping you be your best.

Keeping that in mind, what if we treated Valentine’s Day the same way that we treat New Year’s Day—as an opportunity to set goals for self-improvement? Or in the case of Valentine’s Day, as an opportunity to set goals for relationship improvement? Even if you are in a loving, respectful relationship, there are goals you can make to maintain a strong connection with your partner.

The truth is, most of us have a lot of room for improvement. Relationships can be hard work and when we feel we have so many other obligations vying for our time and attention, our relationship with our partner can fall by the wayside.

So use Valentine’s Day as a way to kickstart yourself in the romance arena. In Feel the Fear’s Guide to Lasting Love, Susan offered dozens of ways that we can work to improve our loving relationships. But there is one goal that sticks out and is a great place to start. She wrote, “I suggest you do one little thing in the relationship every day that will make your partner feel good.”

That sounds like a wonderful place to start!
